Ben Moody is an American musician, songwriter, and producer best known as the co-founder and former guitarist of Evanescence.
Alongside Amy Lee, Moody helped form Evanescence in the mid-1990s and co-wrote many of the band's early songs, including material that later appeared on Fallen.
After leaving Evanescence in 2003, Moody continued working as a songwriter and producer with various artists and later became involved in additional music projects.
Early life
[edit]Ben Moody was born on January 22, 1981 in Little Rock, Arkansas. He met Amy Lee during their teenage years, and the two began writing music together shortly afterward.
Their early recordings mixed gothic imagery, piano melodies, and heavy guitar influences, eventually forming the foundation of Evanescence.

Departure from the band
[edit]In October 2003, during the European leg of Evanescence's Fallen tour, Moody left the band. His departure occurred shortly before a concert in Berlin, Germany.
The remaining tour dates continued with replacement guitarist Terry Balsamo joining the band later.
Later projects
[edit]Following his departure from Evanescence, Moody worked with multiple artists as a songwriter and producer.
In 2009, he became a founding member of the rock band We Are the Fallen alongside former Evanescence members John LeCompt and Rocky Gray.
