Amy Lee is an American singer, songwriter, pianist, and composer best known as the co-founder and lead vocalist of the rock band Evanescence.
Known for her powerful vocal range, piano-driven songwriting, and gothic-inspired visual style, Amy Lee became internationally recognized following the success of Evanescence's debut album Fallen in 2003.
Outside of Evanescence, Lee has contributed music to film soundtracks, collaborated with numerous artists, and released solo material.
Early life
[edit]Amy Lynn Lee was born on December 13, 1981 in Riverside, California. She later moved with her family to Arkansas, where she met future Evanescence guitarist Ben Moody at a youth camp in the mid-1990s.
Amy studied classical piano from a young age and cited influences ranging from classical composers to alternative and metal bands.
Career

[edit]Amy Lee and Ben Moody formed Evanescence in 1995. During the band's early years, they independently released demo recordings and EPs before signing with Wind-up Records.
Fallen era
