'''Fallen''' is the debut studio album by American rock band [[Evanescence]]. It was released on March 4, 2003 through Wind-up Records.

The album became a worldwide commercial success and helped establish Evanescence as one of the most recognizable rock bands of the 2000s. ''Fallen'' featured a blend of alternative metal, gothic imagery, orchestral elements, and piano-driven songwriting led by vocalist [[Amy Lee]].

The album produced several successful singles including "[[Bring Me to Life]]", "[[Going Under]]", and "[[My Immortal]]".

== Background ==

Following years of independent demos and EP releases, Evanescence signed with Wind-up Records in the early 2000s. The band entered the studio with producer Dave Fortman to record their major-label debut.

Much of the material on ''Fallen'' originated from earlier demo recordings written by [[Amy Lee]] and [[Ben Moody]] during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
